At Experience Your Life, we feel strongly about investing in youths and connecting young minds with the right role models so they are empowered to make a true difference in the world. In that spirit, we are proud to host 30 participants (girls aged 13 to 18) from Girls Guide of Canada and other organizations on April 16th for “Making a Difference Event”. This day will be filled with amazing speakers, prizes including multiple gift cards, fun activities and hands on leadership exercises geared towards the idea of making a difference in the world while following your passion. The event is FREE and we are absorbing all costs – we see it as an investment in the next generation of leaders.

The event will be hosted in Experience Your Life state of art facility in Bolton which has the perfect combination of professional working environment and relaxed open concept atmosphere. From the art work to the furniture, it has been created to be a positive and inclusive environment that empowers people to dream.
The agenda for this incredible day includes:
Experience Your Life Vision : To change lives by connecting people with opportunity.
Event Objective : To empower young minds with the ability to dream and the drive to execute.
- 10:00 – 10:20: Introductions and opening remark
- 10:20 – 10:45: Icebreaker exercise. Learning to Co-Lea
- 10:45 – 11:30: Leadership Exercise. Build a tower with provided material
- 11:30 to 12:30: Short presentations from three young leaders who are all making a difference in their own way (bio on next page)
- 12:30 – 1:00: Lunch – Pizza and water/juice
- 1:00 to 1:30: Change makers and risk takers exercise. Write a short one page (or draw) on the topic of “How do you want to Experience Your Life and Change the World”
- 1:30 to 2:30: Fun and Leadership exercise. Learn to fish with Great Canadian Female Anglers
- 2:30 to 2:45: Group Photo. Recognize ALL participants through a badge
- 2:45 to 3:00: Closing Remarks

Israa. As a psychotherapist, a dancer, and self-proclaimed “social-justice-warrior”, Israa is committed to making changes around her. Whether it is in her own life through travel and reading; or it is the world around her, by leading initiatives that impact local mental health issues and global healthcare problems. Through her work and passions, she hopes to better understand the world. She believes that the only way we can make a lasting impact around us, is to be part of the change. Israa’s training began at the University of Toronto and continued at The Derner Institute of Psychological Studies in New York. She currently works at the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Nicole is originally from Costa Rica and loves playing sports for as long as she can remember. She is currently in her fourth year at University of Toronto where she plays varsity Tennis. She is also the president of the Undergraduate Economics Society which is one of the most popular organizations on campus. Her favourite hobbies include travelling, hiking, listening to live music and painting. She is working hard to get admitted into an Ivey League School’s graduate International Development/International Affairs program, to represent Canada or Costa Rica at the World Bank or one of the two country’s permanent mission to the UN, and visit 30+ countries before she is 30 years old. Most importantly, she hopes to make a difference in people’s lives locally and around the world, and bring about the necessary changes/development to accomplish this.
Sophie recently graduated with high honors from Polytechnique Montréal, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. Her studies focused on aircraft structures and advanced materials, with an emphasis on fatigue analysis. Her academic performance and determination led to internships at both Bombardier Aerospace’s Advanced Design Team and Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Operation Management and Materials R&D departments. Since 2014, she’s been involved in various integration programs that aim to support newly-admitted female students and facilitate the acclimation of exchange students at Polytechnique. As a Master of Management of Innovation student at UTM, Sophie strive to improve her managing skills and build the necessary tools for consulting and strategy development position. Her experience in Belgium as an exchange student in undergrad also has broadened her appreciation for cultural diversity and inspired a desire to travel.It’s in that state of mind that Sophie is leaving for at least one year for Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, in Africa, to help local start-ups in the agricultural sector develop better their businesses. She is VERY EXCITED about this personal and professional project!
